ICYMI: Anthony Marrocco’s Culture of Corruption Makes for a Horrible Week


Harrison Twp., MI –The Candice Miller for Macomb campaign announced Anthony Marrocco’s worst week ever starting with Anthony Marrocco’s unanimous violation of by the Macomb ethics board for filming a political commercial at a pumping station and ending with Deputy Macomb Public Works Commissioner and 24-year political ally Dino Bucci being the target of an extortion lawsuit alleging Dino Bucci was demanding a kickback of $75,000 for the return of money a development company was owed by Macomb Township. What will come next for the culture of corruption of Anthony Marrocco?

“With public corruption charges in Macomb County mounting, a longtime Macomb Township trustee has been accused of of trying to extort $76,000 from a contractor, according to published reports….The lawsuit‘s extortion claim against Bucci, a well-known political ally of Macomb County Public Works Commissioner Anthony Marrocco, is further proof of a “pay-to-play” culture in the department, according to Congresswoman Candice Miller, who is challenging Marrocco in the Nov. 8 election. “The pay to play culture of corruption perpetuated by Public Works Commissioner Anthony Marrocco has been well known in Macomb County for decades,” Miller said Friday in a statement.”

In yet another allegation of political corruption in Macomb County, a contractor filed a lawsuit Friday accusing a Macomb Township trustee of trying to extort about $76,000 from the company when it tried to get a refund on water and sewer fees for a development that was not constructed. Gianna Investments LLC filed the lawsuit in Macomb County Circuit Court against the township and Trustee Dino F. Bucci, who also serves as an operations manager for Macomb County Public Works.
